The crew of a U.S. AC-47 plane fires 7.62mm miniguns during a night mission in Vietnam. To get this extraordinary picture, photographer Larry Burrows convinced the crew commander to remove the door from the side of the plane, so that he could get the vantage point he wanted (and needed) in order to convey the terrible beauty of the scene.
